recently i bought the albulm rossz csillag alatt szuletett on vinyl, a breakcore albulm made by the pioneer of the art himself vsnares. i already had skelechairs on vinyl but this was my first actual breakcore albulm. after a full listening session of that i got back into the breakcore rabbit hole (i sure am saying breakcore alot huh) and ive rekindilised my love for vsnares and his projects, as im writing this im listening to 'my downfall' and ive listened to like 6 of his albulms in a row
this revitilisation took me back to my roots, the start of my deeper appreciation of music (which ive wrote about before and has since been removed for the sake of this blog) was because of breakcore, well not real breakcore but that tiktok definition of it, basically ambient jungle. i listened to artists like modern dnb artists like proloxx (who is a great btw) and classic dnb like omni trio and alot of people who worked with the moving shadow label. proloxx's track, 'windows breakcore' is the whole reason i got into making music in the first place and if it wasnt for it alot of what i believe makes me, wouldnt of happened. then i listened to the likes of aphex twin, squarepusher, igorrrr, drumcorps, vsnares, goreshit etc. and all this really great music.
i stopped listening to dnb and all its subgenres for a while and branched into more and more music, ive also found (and fallen in love w) the underground scene and so much more. breakcore has shaped me so much as a person and only know that ive gotten into this binge sesh of vsnares albulms that ive properly realised that.
