le music corner

this is where i talk about my weird music taste and my (shitty) musical endeavours, spoiler: i have no musical talent. also all my music is hosted here ---->

dnb and jungle

(most of) the music I make falls under the Drum and Bass and more specifically the jungle sub-genre (of DnB). also jungle IS a subgenre of DnB and not its own genre (as some people may say it is) but thats a entirely different topic/discussion. My inspirations are Omni Trio and Proloxx (aka tre) (i recommend listening to them if you like DnB)

my actual music

i wont be talking about all my songs, but rather my significant ones

my first attempt at 'music' and DnB is extremely bad and i wouldnt recommend listening to it at all. I watched some random 'breakcore' tutorial which wasnt even breakcore (dont get me started on THAT) and it told me to chop breaks(which I did) but then it told me to make a melody, problem is i didnt (and still dont) know music theory and I was extemely unexperienced as this was literally my first time ever using fl studio or literally any daw so I didnt make a melody. The 'song' is literally a poorly chopped amen break, thats literally it.

my next 'track' was extremely similiar except from the fact i added some lofi piano one shot and some random pad.

doorhinge (yes i know thats an extremely weird name) was the first song i was actually happy with(although im not anymore as in retrospective its mediocore at best), but it was just a think break loop and some random piano loop and nothing original and for some reason i added a 'drill' bass.

ravenholm reprise amen remix ok, i am pretty proud of this one becasue it sounds decent, not listenable but decent. I heavily bitcrushed this and i overlaped 3 different breaks on eachover. Also (you probably know this by now) but its a remix of 'ravenholm reprise' the soundtrack to the chapter 'we dont go to ravenholm' in half-life 2 (one of my all time favourite games).

'98 jungle is my latest dnb track and i am also proud of this (but I do prefer the ravenholm remix) and I sample the windows 98 boot sound. It also includes that dubstep siren sound

My CD collection

the above pictures are of my CD collection. If you cant already tell, my music taste is extremely weird. I regularly listen to music made in the '30s, '60s and modern music I listen to classical and gangster rap (also 90s/2000s gangster rap was its prime). sometimes I question how im not autistic.

Trocadero

trocadero means a lot to me, and everytime I listen to it I get a wave of nostalgia and it invokes a strong emotional reaction in me, I can barely listen to them without breaking down in tears. It was the band that made music for RvB (the bottom boxset in the picture) which also holds a place in my heart. I watched RvB when I was extremely young (like 5ish) and so i watched it through out my entire childhood and still do. And due to RvB I also listened to Trocadero in my childhood and now whenever I listen to it I get reminded about 'the good 'ol days'(i know extremely cliche)

Tally hall

tally hall also means a lot to me, its one of my favourite bands (tied with trocadero) and there was a period in my life (about a month or so) where i would only listen to tally hall I found out about the band after their song 'ruler of everything was in a meme i watched and I was like 'hmm i wonder what the rest of their music sounds like' and the rest is history, but that wasnt my first encounter with tally hall. Back in 2014, Rob Cantors 'Shia LaBeouf' became popular and i found out about it whilst ,you guessed it, watching a meme. FUN FACT: when I first heard of tally hall i thought it was one guy.

The animals

I found out about the animals when I was listening to the soundcloud mix thing thats specifically catered to me and the animals 'house of the rising sun' came up and whilst looking for more i started listening to the classic pre 1970s music.

thats the end of the music corner for now
